Nigrin is our natural extract of Brassica nigra (black mustard) which has been standardized to contain 25% glucosinolate. Typically, Brassica nigra almost exclusively contains the glucosinolate known as sinigrin at a mere 2-3%.
We’ve formulated Nigrin to carefully deliver the main bioactive, Allyl-thiocyanates (AITC), by selectively deactivating the endogenous enzyme. This restricts its hydrolysis in the stomach, helping sinigrin to reach the colon where colonic bacteria convert it to AITC which are responsible for its various health benefits.
These include reducing the level of triglycerides in the plasma, preventing cancer and DNA damage caused by carcinogens, and preventing various diseases.
