Frangipani Absolute is produced by solvent extraction of the flowers of Plumeria Alba. Plumeria got its name Frangipani in the 16th century from an Italian Frangipani family after they claimed that they created a plumeria scented perfume. However, the fact is that they created a synthetic perfume which resembles the smell of plumeria. Many cultures consider the flower as sacred. For example, as per the Indian Hindu mythology, the Frangipani (champak) tree resides in the heavenly home of lord Krishna. Across polynesia, a variety of plumeria flowers are used to make leis.
The Frangipani absolute appears like a thick waxy substance and you may not get any flowery smell. However, when you dilute it and allow it to settle for at least a month, it will be filled with the exotic, mind blowing aroma of frangipani flowers.
