Gomphrena haageana, commonly known as Strawberry Fields Globe Amaranth, is an eye-catching flower sure to brighten any garden. Symbolizing friendship in the Victorian age, an infusion of this herb will help you relax, just like a good friend.
HOW DOES IT TASTE?
Strawberry Fields Globe Amaranth boasts fresh, floral aromas. It produces an attractive red infusion with intense vegetal notes but, despite its name, it is not fruity. The flavours are strong, with a more herbaceous and bitter taste than our Globe Amaranth.
GOOD IF YOU ARE FEELING
Hoarse. Strawberry Fields Globe Amaranth can soothe a sore throat and ease tired vocal cords. Try a cup of this infusion when you want to get rid of that frog in your throat.
HOW IT IS MADE
Organically cultivated plants originate in our nursery and are selected from the best adapted cultivars. Harvesting is done by hand near the flowering stage of the plant cycle (when essential oil concentration is higher). Leaves are dried at low temperatures, never exceeding 25ºC. The best leaves are selected by hand
HOW TO PREPARE
Combine 2 tablespoons of Strawberry Fields Globe Amaranth flowers with 1 litre of 85°C water in your vessel of choice (tea strainer, tea pot, or even right into the mug). Let the flowers steep for 4-6 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. We recommend a shorter infusion time with this herb to avoid astringent notes.
The flowers of Strawberry Fields Globe Amaranth are popular for their anti-inflammatory properties, which can help relieve a sore throat, cough, tired vocal cords, and other upper-respiratory ailments. This infusion also has relaxing effects and may lower blood pressure.
Strawberry Fields Globe Amaranth is mostly used to enhance the appearance of a good meal. It can be used to garnish salads and other earthy plates, or as a beautiful decoration for your favourite cake or pastry.
