Thyme is a Mediterranean herb with many dietary, medicinal, as well as ornamental uses. The flowers, leaves, and oil of thyme have been used since ancient times,to treat a very wide range of symptoms and illnesess.
Possible medicinal properties: Chest infections, soothes inflamed intestines and digestive system, soothes laryngitis, tonsillitis and respiratory infections. Has antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiseptic properties.
Possible external medicinal uses: Gargle for sore throat and cough, gingivitis and caries. Relieves rheumatism, granulates and asthma. Can be placed on skin injuries for antiseptic purposes.
Used in cooking for flavor and aroma.
Drying Process: The process of drying our herbs is carried out under the shade in low temperatures below 35 degrees Celsius to ensure that the herbs preserve their colour and essential oils. Thus, they are characterised by their lively appearance and rich aroma.
