Streblus asper Lour is a small perennial tree of MORACEAE family which is rigid shrub or gnarled tree. Leaves are 2 – 4 inchs, ovate and rough. It is found in tropical areas such as Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, India and Sri Lanka. This plant is known by various names Khoi, Siamese rough bush, Tooth brush tree, Bar-inka, Berrikka and Sheora. The branch of Khoi has been used as a tooth brush for strengthening teeth and gums. The stem bark of S.asper has been used in traditional medicine for antifilarial and anticancer. Pharmacological effects include oral hygiene, toothache treatment, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory.The chemical constituents of Khoi are Asperoside, Strebloside and β – sitosterol
