Juniper (Juniperus cummunis), is an evergreen shrub found in many parts of the world, including North America, Europe, and Asia. Since ancient times, it has been widely used as a herbal medicine. Juniper berries take three years to mature and provide significant aroma compounds. The berries, which are extracted by steam distillation, are thought to be the most therapeutical parts of the plant.
Its harvesting season is from February to April.

Uses
Juniper berries are used as an antiseptic for cystitis. Its bitter action aids digestion and alleviates flatulentcolic.
It is used for rheumatism and arthritis. It relieves pain in the joints and muscles when applied externally. Fruits can also be used to treat fevers and headaches.
It is also used in perfume and flavoring.
Acme, oil eczerna, dermatitis, and other skin conditions benefit greatly from this treatment.
It also aids in the treatment of common and flu-like illnesses.
