Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus) is a species of aromatic tree belonging to the Myrtaceae family and the genus Eucalyptus. This species is native to Australia and is widely cultivated in Nepal, India, China and other subtropical and temperate regions. It is a fast-growing evergreen tree that can reach height of 30-60 m and thrives in well-drained soils at altitudes ranging from 300 to 2500 m, depends on climate conditions. It is extracted by steam-distillation of the fresh or partially dried leaves. It’s harvesting can take place once the trees reach sufficient leaf maturity, typically 2–3 years after planting, and leaves may be collected periodically depending on cultivation and management practices.
