Product Description
Huge respect here for the Granddaddy of them all! Frankincense is mainly used for incense which, in old french, means high quality incense, and has long been associated with meditation and spirituality as a result. It has a rich, sweet, mysteriously exotic scent which is somewhat seductive, so we just had to include it in our …and breathe formulation.
Also known as olibanum, Frankincense is made from the resin of the super hardy Boswellia tree, which typically grows in the dry, mountainous regions of India, Africa and the Middle East, and has even been known to grow on solid rock! It takes 8 to 10 years before the tree, when tapped, yields the streaks of resin, known as tears. Wild harvested by making perforations into the bark of the trunk, the tears are collected and then steam distilled to produce the essential oil.
Our Frankincense essential oil comes from Somalia, where it is sustainably sourced.
