Product Description
Citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus) is a species of aromatic grass belonging to the Poaceae family and the genus Cymbopogon. This species is native to tropical Asia and is widely cultivated in Nepal, India, Srilanka, Indonesia, and other tropical regions. It is a perennial cluming grass that grows upto 1.5-2.5m tall and thrives in warm, humid climate at altitude ranging from 200 to 1000m. The essential oil of Cymbopogon winterianus is extracted by steam-distillation of the partially dried leaves.
It is harvested multiple times annually after the first cutting.
