Juniper leaf (Juniperus communis) is a perennial coniferous evergreen belonging to the Cupressaceae family. This species is native to Northern Hemisphere, spanning across Europe, North America and Northern Asia. In Nepal, it thrives at much higher elevations, typically found between 3000 to 4500 meters. It’s a small tree that grows upto 10 meters. Steam distillation of the leaves and twigs yields Juniper leaf essential oil.
It’s harvesting season is from february to April.
